Comment: I spent the evening browsing your wonderful photographs and remembering my great vacation there this summer to see the MGP. I enjoyed every minute of the beautiful island except being caught on the footpath near the top of Snaefell Mt in a suprise thunderstorm. Thanks for posting and look forward to seeing more.

Comment: Just surfing, and found your wonderful site.
Spent many happy hours on Holidays during the 50s on this beautiful Island. Dancing in the Palace Ballroom to Joe Loss and other big bands, riding the Horse drawn trams and the electric railway. Sampled many a fine brew in the Pub atop Onchan head.
Will be back to visit.

Comment: A superb web site with great photographs to bring back many memories.I was brought up by my grandmother, on Hillside Ave.in Douglas during the war;my mother was Manx and I had (and still have)many relatives there.After the war,I went to live in Manchester with my parents but still returned to the Island every holiday until I started work in 1958.During my holidays,I used to help my grandad,Tommy Readshaw,who used to have rowing boats near the Gaiety on Douglas promenade.Great times.

Comment: Dear Peter...From the photos in April2006...this looks like a peaceful, poetic, clean kind of place. I especially loved your photos from March of the stain glass windows in St Peters church!! The colors are magnificent and bright, and the artwork beautiful...you seem to be able to capture an array of colors and light in your photos that are not so easily captured at times. I truly enjoy your site and one day will visit.

Comment: Peter, I was alertd to your photos recently by a friend. I too enjoy photography as a hobby and use it to promote my homeland, Cape Breton Island on the east coast of Canada. I really enjoyed viewing your photos and will be checking back from time to time.
